
Service Dog Foundations Group Class
This structured 6-week group class is designed for owner-trained service dogs working toward reliable public access and task readiness. The class focuses on advanced obedience, calm neutrality, impulse control, and service-dog-appropriate behaviors in a controlled group setting.​This is an ideal next step for teams who have completed basic obedience and are ready to build real-world working skills with professional guidance.​

​What This Class Is (and Is Not)
✔ Designed for service dog prospects and in-training service dogs
✔ Supports owner-trained teams
✔ Emphasizes public access standards and working behavior
✖ Not a pet manners class
✖ Not appropriate for reactive or aggressive dogs
✖ Does not teach full medical alert or mobility tasks (foundations only)​
Prerequisites
Dog must have basic obedience skills (sit, down, leash manners)
Dog must be comfortable working around other dogs
Handler must be physically able to manage their dog
Dogs must be healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations

This class supports service dog training but does not guarantee service dog status or public access rights. Progress depends on the individual dog, handler consistency, and continued training beyond this course.
